Job Summary/
Essential Functions: Start Something Big with Eastern Washington University. We are currently seeking an experienced professional for Campus Police Sergeant. This position will supervise a squad or shift of full-time campus police officers. This position will perform the patrol duties of the police officer, and are responsible for supervising a group of police officers. Incumbents have arrest powers and are required to be commissioned law officers under the regulations of the state.

Conditions of Employment: The successful candidate must be a CJTC certified commissioned officer or other state's equivalent. Candidates must be physically fit and able to perform the basic job functions of the position. The selected candidate will be required to work rotating shifts. The successful candidate will be required to pass both a psychological and polygraph test. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and pre-placement physical exam prior to beginning work. This is an Agency Shop position.

Minimum
Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent; At least 21 years of age; Possession of a valid driver's license; Must be a currently certified or commissioned law enforcement officer; two years of work experience as a campus police officer or equivalent; no previous felony convictions. U.S. citizenship may be required. A Bachelor's Degree in Police Science may substitute for one year of required experience.
Equivalent education/experience in law enforcement will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
