IT Director

The Democratic National Committee s Tech team is hiring a Director of Information Technology to lead our technology efforts. We are looking for an experienced technology leader to help us identify the biggest technology opportunities and to work with our engineers and employees to build solutions that address those opportunities. You will lead and grow the Help Desk and System Administration teams. This is a hands-on role where you will manage services ranging from corporate services to production systems supporting our efforts to win elections. Previous experience managing mail systems, networks, Splunk, AWS, security systems, and SSO integrations would be helpful. Experience with security concepts, standards, and technologies will also be a big plus.
Who we are
The Tech team is a small, diverse team that develops and supports the technology used by candidates and organizers in all 50 states and all 3,413 counties across the United States to analyze data, organize campaigns, raise money, and get out the vote on election day. But there s more to do. So we re hiring product managers, engineers, researchers, designers, security experts, IT professionals, and data scientists who can use user-centered design and rapid iteration to develop a rich technology ecosystem for progressives building tools ourselves as well as partnering with other companies and organizations.

You will...

    • Identify
      our biggest technologies opportunities for our corporate and production environments, then work with internal and external teams to plan, design, implement, and deploy new systems to meet them.
    • Manage
      long-term projects from start to finish, ensuring we don't get caught up in the day to day tasks.
    • Provide metrics and reports
      on team efforts, and strengthen the team's ability to triage and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
    • Communicate
      clearly and approach problems with curiosity and humility.
    • Build a team
      of passionate IT professionals who know how to provide the best support to the teams out to win elections.
This is a senior role on our technology team, reporting directly to the CSO. Because of the hands-on nature of the role, we re looking for someone based in the DC area. We re looking for a strong technical leader, but don t require previous experience in politics. If you are coming from industry, however, be aware that some things are different in the world of politics: while we've done some budget hacking so we can be competitive when it comes to salaries we know we can t beat Google or Facebook. On the other hand, you might legit help save the world. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
